DESCRIPTION:La Convention pour la protection des biens culturels en cas de conflit armé\, signée il y a 70 ans à La Haye – ratifiée par la Suisse en 1962 – est le premier traité multilatéral exclusivement dédié à la protection des biens culturels. \nBien qu’enrichi de nouvelles règles depuis 1954\, le droit international reste parfois impuissant à garantir la préservation du patrimoine mondial. Ainsi l’histoire récente a vu conflits et pillages causer des destructions sans précédent. À ces actions délibérées s’ajoutent des catastrophes naturelles ou accidentelles\, tels les incendies. \nQuelle est la part de responsabilité des musées face à ces menaces et comment assument-ils la mission fondamentale qu’est la protection du patrimoine culturel ? La sélection d’œuvres proposée éclaire tant la sauvegarde que le Musée d’art et d’histoire se doit d’assurer de ses collections que son rôle de refuge pour des pièces confiées temporairement par des pays tiers en guerre ou victimes de pillages
