DESCRIPTION:Au lendemain de la Seconde Guerre mondiale\, 61 000 oeuvres et objets d’art furent récupérés en Allemagne par les forces alliées et rapportés en France. Nombre d’entre eux avaient appartenu à des familles juives spoliées. Plus de 45 000 biens furent restitués à leurs propriétaires. Parmi les biens non réclamés environ 2 200 oeuvres furent placées sous la responsabilité du ministère des Affaires étrangères et confiées à la garde des musées nationaux avant qu’une partie n’en soit déposée dans des musées en régions. Ces oeuvres ne font pas partie des collections nationales et restent sur des inventaires provisoires. Ces oeuvres sont communément désignées par l’acronyme « MNR » (Musées Nationaux Récupération). \nLes Musées de la Ville de Strasbourg conservent 27 MNR dans leurs murs : sept objets (Musée des Arts décoratifs et Musée de l’OEuvre Notre-Dame) et 20 peintures (Musée des Beaux-Arts et Musée d’Art moderne et contemporain). Comme les autres musées conservant des biens MNR\, les Musées de la Ville de Strasbourg ont pour mission de faciliter les recherches destinées à identifier les propriétaires de ces oeuvres\, en vue\, le cas échéant\, d’une restitution à leurs ayants droit. L’Université et les Musées de la Ville de Strasbourg s’associent pour étudier ces objets et leur statut juridique et un symposium international organisé au printemps 2023 complètera cette présentation galerie Heitz.

SUMMARY:[appel à projet] The Christie’s Grant for Nazi-era Provenance Research
DESCRIPTION:In addition to the year-long global programme marking the 25th anniversary of the Washington Principles\, Christie’s is delighted to announce the 2023 Christie’s Grant for Nazi-Era Provenance Research. The Grant\, to be offered to three recipients (£5\,000 each)\, will fund forward-thinking academic\, post-graduate research into subjects related to Nazi-era provenance research. Furthermore\, the Grant beneficiaries will be offered professional mentorship by a member of Christie’s international Restitution team. Applications will be accepted from 1 April – 31 May \, and Grant recipients will be announced on 3 December 2023\, to coincide with the Washington Conference anniversary. \nThese Grants are made possible with the support of the Christie’s Fund (see Equity\, Diversity & Inclusion) with the aim of increasing and supporting voices under-represented in provenance research\, and to support early career development\, particularly encouraging those for whom financial support will be significant in ensuring the opportunity to pursue specialized research. \nThe application process will be open to submissions from 1 April to 31 May 2023\, via email to Restitution2023@christies.com. \nEarly applications are encouraged\, and can be from students in art history or with an interdisciplinary interest in Nazi-era related provenance research. Applications should include the following: \n\nAn outline of current or proposed research topic (1\,000 – 2\,000 words)\, including date of thesis submission\nConfirmation of enrolment at an academic institution on a post-graduate course (masters or Ph.D studies) for the year 2023/24\nTwo academic referees\nAn outline on how financial support – up to £5\,000 – would be helpful in ensuring completion of studies. Please note that grants should be spent within 18 months of receipt. Grants may cover institutional/tuition fees\, research-related costs or to assist open access publication\nCurriculum vitae\nAny additional information supporting alignment with the Christie’s Fund goals.

Les deux prix remis consistent en : \n\nUn Grand Prix\, dotée d’une somme de 3 000€ et dont la candidature est réservée aux jeunes de moins de 35 ans.\nUn Prix Spécial\, remis à titre honorifique et ouvert à tous les candidats sans condition d’âge ou occupation.
